SYNOPSIS
During another one of countless arguments with his daughter Camélia, Parisian cab driver Lamine announces that he intends to Frenchify their family name. Camélia, a filmmaker, is driven to scrutinize the deep resentment he feels towards their country of origin. Together, between feelings of love and anger, they discover Algeria’s true place in their relationship.

Camélia Gadhgadhi is a 23 year old Franco-Algerian filmmaker born in the suburbs of Paris. She obtained a master’s degree in cinema and worked on a number of film sets before writing, directing and producing UNZARI, her first short film (distributed by Messina Films, in Tokyo in 2019.
She currently works as a writing coordinator and assistant showrunner on the first French Apple TV show, which is in pre-production. She is also in the final steps of post-production for La Nuit, her second short film, which she self-produced and shot in Paris in 2021.
